I am a Fellow of the Guild of Glass Engravers, live in North Yorkshire, England and have been engraving since 1981. During that period I attended a number of glass engraving training courses, delivered by internationally renown tutors.
I have held the position of Chairman of the Guild of Glass Engravers and Secretary of the Northern Branch of the Guild.
My engraving technique involves the use of a micro motor electric drill with diamond and stone burrs, which gives the smooth effect that I prefer for my engraving. My preferred style of engraving is 'intaglio', which gives a deep 3D effect to the engraving.
I mainly produce pieces for exhibitions and private commissions. My preferred themes are architecture, the human form and animals. Many of my pieces contain an element of humour, in order to make the finished article light hearted.
My work can be found in museums and private houses throughout the UK and the USA. |
